Take a deep breath.
Look around you. What do you see, hear and feel? What are you doing? Are you really there or is your mind somewhere else?
It's interesting how you can be there and not there at the same time when you're doing an activity. Your mind is busy ruminating about the past and planning for the future. The present? Apparently neglected.
Perhaps you've gotten your priorities in the wrong order where the present does not matter as much, just an afterthought to be reviewed in the future.
Or perhaps you've forgotten that life is unfolding in real time, right now, in this moment. A fleeting moment that you can never get back. In a blink of an eye, what you've missed is now in the past.
So why are you allowing your attention to stray away from the present?
Dwell as much as you want about the past but it's already happened. You can't rewind and go back in time to change that no matter how hard you try.
The future is not set, an open possibility where anything can happen no matter how much you plan for it. Even if you happen to be an oracle, you'll probably only see different variations of it. When it comes down to a guessing game, which one would it be?
The present, though, is where the magic happen. A chance to truly experience something to the fullest. To make moves that could alter the trajectory of your life. An important opportunity that you can leverage on. And it's always there with you, right now.
Now is all you have.
Question: Whatever that you are doing right now, are you really there or is your mind somewhere else?
